I was recently asked by Philippe Debongnie, a Belgian illustrator, to contribute an image to his website www.jazzanddraw.com . I spent a long weekend at End of the Road Festival – hipster hangout, lumberjack chic everywhere you look, the cider bus and some great music. The sun shone hard in the middle of the Dorset countryside so there are lots of sketches of people wearing hats and coping with too much heat and alcohol!
This is a commission for the US band Auto Body. I work in acrylic on card which allows me to contrast flat colours (looking contemporary – eg; screen print revival and digital illustration) with more painterly marks (more traditional watercolour technique.)
